General Notices

Lurking Glass and its owners and administrators are not responsible for the content of any messages posted. Messages posted express the views of their author only.

All information or content you submit or upload may be reviewed by staff members. Do not submit any content or information that you consider to be private or confidential.

If the consequence of violating a rule isn't mentioned, that basically means that a user may be informed of the violation, but nothing will happen unless continued violations cause headaches for us.

Flooding

Making multiple worthless or repetitious posts in quick succession with the intention of pushing other content out of view will not be tolerated. Administrators are authorized to ban users for flooding or to restrict access to the part of the site being abused, at their discretion.

Harassment/Cyber-Bullying

If someone is bothering you, please make use of the "ignore" feature and cut-off communication with the person. If the problem continues, contact an administrator and they will evaluate the situation and act if necessary.

Please note that we have no control over what happens outside of this site. If you give out personal information and someone uses that information to harass you outside of Lurking Glass you should contact your local authorities. Also, note that we won't take action based on what happens off the site.

Some examples of what we consider harassment on Lurking Glass:

• Making malicious untrue statements about another member.
• Sharing another member's contact information, personal details, private communications, or photos without their approval.
• Persistent attempts to interfere with another member's enjoyment of Lurking Glass.

Hacking

Any attempts to exploit weakness in Lurking Glass code or server, elevate your privileges on the site, phish passwords from Lurking Glass members, exploit XSS or CSRF vulnerabilities, cause any type of denial-of-service, or carry-out any other malicious act are strictly forbidden. Hackers, and would-be hackers, will be banned and reported to the applicable authorities.

Advertising/SPAM

No unauthorized advertising is allowed on Lurking Glass. Accounts created with the express purpose of advertising will be banned. Lurking Glass members are allowed to promote and share pretty much anything they want so long as they post it in the applicable area and the majority of their use of Lurking Glass is not for advertising purposes.

If you want to advertise on Lurking Glass you are welcome to, we use Project Wonderful.

External Links

When posting links to other sites, you may not obfuscate or obscure the real destination of the link. You may not use TinyURL or other similar services.

Intentionally posting links directing to viruses, worms, or other malware is forbidden. If an administrator thinks the harmful link was accidental the member will be warned, otherwise the member will be banned.

When required by law, we will take down posted content.

Adult Content

We consider Lurking Glass an adult site. Those under 18 years old are not allowed to register. However, since the public can view a lot of the site without being registered we ask that adult content only be posted in the applicable areas.

Account Sharing

Sharing an account with elevated privileges will result in that account being stripped of those elevated privileges.
