Pretty much, but I usually only add people I know, or people whom I have had close correspondences with for years. If you start adding a bunch of people that you met online or talked to one time for a few minutes in real life, then you start having your facebook page filled up with a bunch of posts about how Anika's Pig on Farmville just had a dozen Piglets or how Pablo's doing on Mafia wars.

People posting a bunch of useless dreck on Facebook is the number one reason for "unfriending". If it is someone you do not even know in real life, so much the better.
