There's even one part that says that there was "confusion over how many votes constitute a majority." It seems to me they could figure that out with a fraction. =P

Yes, take out the part of math that everyone actually does need in everyday life, because this will make things easier. I guess they won't be learning about money or change either. What a bunch of fucking buffoons.

Hey, y'all, you might want to click the link at the bottom of the article... Something about it read too much like an Onion article, so I had to do a little digging.

It was actually done by Snopes to make a point, which is that if you blindly rely on Snopes to do your fact checking for you, it's the same problem as you blindly relying on emails to be true.

Which is not to say that the education system in this country is in good shape, especially in Mississippi, but this isn't true.

Yeah, the article got more obviously fake with every sentence. But I'll admit I was a little conflicted, because if Snopes was saying it then it must be true.

Yeah, I noticed that too, and it is a good point.

haha, well I'm from Canada so this story sounded pretty legit to me.

    Because Canadians are retarded?
  14. Yoshinori Lurker

no, cause I hear so much weird shit about America, it didn't even cross my mind to question the authenticity of this article.

All of my righteous indignation was for naught?

I should have known that something batshit insane enough to make me angry would be fake.

Do you often read American news articles in which officials refer to people as "pinko"? :scratchhead:

Um, those charts show that the US has one of the highest high school completion rates in the world and appears to be in the middle quintile in some measurement of science knowledge.

    What is the point?
