Now I'm sure George appears on sexy men lists way more often than Rowan but I want you to choose between the two of them based purely on the two pictures below.
    So who is better looking?

I think part of the reason I prefer Rowan is that he looks more like me. I get the same eye crinkles when I smile and he has the same nose as my dad. My nose isn't quite like that yet but give it ten years and maybe. But anyway I find him much better looking than George in those pictures. Rowan has bright sexy eyes and a suggestive smirk (he really was at his best in the Blackadder days). George on the other hand has bug eyes and a tiny nose that makes his face look overly wide. Infact now that I think about it he looks a bit like ET. No wonder Kahlua likes that picture of him.

I could never see Rowan Atkinson as attractive, he will always be Mr. Bean to me
  4. AL1CE Hexy Witch

Ah I knew about Blackadder before Mr Bean. Advantages of being English.
  5. Wasn't he the Sherrif of Nottingham in a tv show?

    Oops nope Tony Robinson.

^ I loved that show! It was hilarious.
  7. AL1CE Hexy Witch

Tony Robinson looks even more like my Dad. Luckily I don't find him sexy (though I might choose him over George).

Back to subject: Rowan's chin is a bit on the small side but you can't tell that when he's got his Blackadder II beard on. In contrast George's chin is HUGE and he has these silly little lips to go with his silly little nose. George is all face and no features.

You know earlier I said George looks a bit like ET. Well to be fair he looks more like a soldier from the film Antz:

  8. I will never, ever find Rowan Atkinson attractive as he'll always be Mr. Bean to me.
However, I was reading an article/interview about him about two weeks ago and the journalist described him as being good-looking (to her own surprise).

The settling principle also applies beyond just adjusting the perception of attractiveness down so less desirable people can find a mate. It also means in some cases these people who are less desirable will convince themselves that more desirable people are less desirable. It's kind of like people saying, "Since I can't get a 10, not only will I find a 6 more attractive, but I no longer find a 10 attractive at all." This is Pragmatism Bias or something like that. It makes sense too and explains why some poeple might actually believe Mr. Bean is better looking than say George Clooney, something the majority of society thinks is nuts. These people who do this are "double hit" with the settling principle and not only think Mr. Bean is hotter than he really is because he's more in keeping with their station of beauty but they also no longer consider George Clooney hot at all. This is a cool theory. I totally buy it. It applies a lot to this site, I think.

Black Adder (though I fancy Percy too, he is so fancy)

    I didn't realize that was Mr.Bean and now that I do, he's like at a -10. Ew, I can't stand that character!
  12. Brokin15 Allons-y!

All I can see when I look at him is Mr.Bean. I wonder if he ever regrets that role, ha.
  13. NOS Radministrator

Why would he regret it? He's made a real sweet living off that character.
  14. Brokin15 Allons-y!

Because it's all anyone thinks of when they see him. Kind of like how Robert Pattinson boohoos about regretting Twilight.
  15. MrJunkpile alflalfla

Rowan Atkinson, however, is a man.
  16. NOS Radministrator

Yeah, Rowan totally got typecasted playing the Mr. Bean role but comparing him to Robert Pattinson from Twilight?? You gotta be kidding me. Mr. Bean is not only known internationally (I used to watch him in Saudi Arabia, where people know him there too!), because he barely speaks, but he's also a character that the whole family could watch and enjoy from the little kids in the family to the elderly, everyone enjoyed Mr. Bean. Honestly, I take great offense to you comparing Mr fuckin Bean to a sparkly vampire that is hardly known outside of a niche consumer market mainly made up of 14 year old girls and under-loved middle aged women.
  17. MrJunkpile alflalfla

    Chill, man.
  18. sexyweed Most Unpredictable Member

i think ev eryone knows the sparkly vampire, even people who never watched him.
  19. Psychopiglet Active Member

I quite liked when he died in GOF and Silas from Hollyoaks was like "That's my son!!! That's my boy!"
  20. NOS Radministrator

But how many people do you hear saying stuff like, "oh man that Pattinson guy really killed that vampire role", "yeah duude I'm SOOO gonna watch his next movie EVEN if he isnt a vampire!", "his acting skillz were off the chain, superb, it was simply amazing, Tom Hanks run for your money biatch!" Have you ever heard this??

When people discuss Mr Bean they're usually talking about how they used to watch it with the fam back in the day and that they'll Youtube some videos the next time they remember OR how they just recently watched an episode and LOL'd their asses off.
